About Deb Day

Deb is the founder, President, and Chief Strategist of Innovate By Day - a Toronto-based hybrid strategic marketing, social media, and digital content production studio. As a marketing strategist with a long history serving the entertainment and cultural industries, Deb is known as “the storyteller that the storytellers hire” to build their brands.

In 2010, after decades spent working as a producer and director in film and television, Deb saw an opportunity to bridge the gap between entertainment and marketing and founded Innovate By Day. Now, Deb leverages her experience to lead teams that create effective social media strategies and engaging video content for brands, companies, broadcasters, not-for-profit, and public sector organizations. Deb works with media networks, executives, and business owners to accelerate their ideas, shape their narratives in the digital space.

Deb is a SheEO Activator, supporting other women entrepreneurs.

She is currently a mentor for The Forge, a business incubator program in Hamilton associated with McMaster University.

She is often sought out as a trainer, speaker and mentor, working with organizations like Women in Film and Television (WIFT) and imagineNATIVE.

In 2018, Deb was awarded the Digital Trailblazer by Women in Film & Television-Toronto for her leadership in Digital Media and mentoring of talent.

Deb was a member of the first cohort of the Fifth Wave Accelerator Lab for female founders in the digital media industry and was a participant in the all-female-founder Trade Accelerator Program offered by the Toronto Board of Trade.

Innovate By Day is certified as a Women Business Enterprise by the Women Business Enterprises Canada Council (WBE Canada), Canada’s largest third-party certifier of the businesses owned and operated by women.
