Deb is an award-winning television and film director and producer with over 20 years in the entertainment industry.  Using her finely-tuned communication, strategic and creative thinking skills, Deb works with entrepreneurs, businesses, production companies, distributors and broadcasters to create effective digital and social media strategies and content to engage customers, clients and audiences in the social media sphere. Deb’s passion both for storytelling and directly engaging with audiences, combined with her talent for listening, analyzing and connecting, has made her an in-demand consultant in the world of social, digital and transmedia.

As a strategist and producer, Deb connects businesses and productions with the right partners to support their projects and goals. Incorporating the powerful and ever-changing digital and social media space, Deb and her team strive to forge new opportunities while remaining true to the distinctive look, feel and voice of the project at hand.

Learning and empowering are a big part of Deb’s life. As a workshop leader, moderator and trainer, she designs and runs training and development programs for industry organizations and associations. From leading small, intensive workshops to addressing larger conference audiences as an individual speaker, panelist or moderator, Deb loves to engage people in conversation and expand possibilities.

Deb and her company worked with  Bell Media as the Digital Producer of CTV’s hit summer series Saving Hope; with Vérité Films for two seasons CBC’s InSecurity; and with Rhombus Media on CBC’s critical hit Michael: Tuesdays & Thursdays. They are currently working on Cracked on CBC for White Pine Pictures,  Call Me Fitz with eOne and Amaze Films, and several ATPN projects, to name a few. Recently Deb was a speaker at the Atlantic Film Festival Music and Images Conference, Women in Film and Television (WiFT) Career Accelerator, and lead training sessions for The National Screen Institute,  the ImagineNATIVE festival, and the 2012 Merging Media (Vancouver) conference. Deb is also an active mentor, working with emerging talent or people in transition. She is currently part of the Canadian Women in Communications Mentorship Program.

James builds the digital foundations of your Innovate by Day campaign with insight, passion and ‘mad software skillz’. James has helped professionals bring their ideas to life in the learning, communications, medical and legal fields for over 20 years as a research assistant, graphic designer and library and database administrator. With his creative and analytical mind, and commitment to understanding and growing your business, James works behind the scenes and on the front lines to reach out to your audience in the growing social media sphere.

As your community manager, James is the voice of your project in the social space, listening to, engaging with and responding to your audience to enhance their experience of your brand. In real life, he spends entirely too much time staring at glowing screens of various sizes, and his interest in music, theatre, film and television will hopefully one day improve his Klout score.

Amy is a writer, music afficiando, social media maven at Innovate By Day. Last year she realized a personal dream by co-founding the International live music review and interview site, Syncopated Sound. She is a self-described live music junkie and is passionate about the Canadian music industry. Amy is a regular contributor to FILLER Magazine, and a freelance writer in Toronto. Having graduated from from McGill in Film, Culture and Communications Studies, she went on to complete a post grad journalism diploma from Humber in May, 2012. Amy has experience in broadcast and digital production. Amy adores working in digital and social media and inspired by the multitude of possibilities in the ever-changing digital mediascape.

 

 

 

Julia LefebvreJulia Lefebvre

Research and Development

Julia brings her passion for digital and social media, and online community engagement to her work in research and development at Innovate by Day. She is excited by the opportunities offered in our brave new world of second, third, and fourth screen experiences. Julia is currently completing her Master of Arts in Communication and Culture at Ryerson University with a focus on technology in practice. In her spare time she makes artsy films, produces corporate training videos, and collaborates with other artists in theatre and dance. In her former life as an actor, Julia guest starred on Canadian TV shows such as The Murdoch Mysteries and Mayday, toured across the great North with the Cree language opera; Pimootewin: The Journey (produced by Soundstreams Canada), and taught Shakespeare and dance workshops to reluctant students of all ages. As a Graduate and Research Assistant at Ryerson U, Julia worked with the RTA School of Media and in the Theatre Department. She brings this broad scope of experience to her work at Innovate by Day.

This intensive program was specifically designed to evolve personal brands in the social and digital media space.

Cindy Stone is author of The Incidental Guru, (Stewart House, 2002) hardcover and (Fitzhenry and Whiteside, 2004) for trade paperback, and shares co-writing credits for the award –winning independent movie, Expecting. She has also contributed articles and short stories to NOW Magazine, various self-help compilations, and literary magazines.

Cindy Stone is co-founder of the charity, Aqua Por Vida, dedicated to bringing sustainable solutions, in public health, education and infrastructure to remote villages in Nicaragua. In the early 1990’s Cindy was also co-founder of a highly innovative software company creating, manufacturing and selling globally database software developers tools,  where she learned everything about how NOT to run a business.
